The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has won the 2026 United Nations Public Service Award for its National Data Bank and Estishraf digital platforms, the UN announced on Tuesday.
The award was granted following an international competition that drew more than 700 submissions from 62 countries.
The UN Public Service Award is the organization’s highest recognition for innovation and excellence in government services. It honors initiatives that improve public service delivery, strengthen institutional performance and enhance government efficiency.
The recognition adds to Saudi Arabia’s growing profile in data and artificial intelligence and comes during the Kingdom’s Year of Artificial Intelligence 2026.
The National Data Bank, developed by SDAIA, is designed to improve data quality and facilitate data sharing across government entities. Moreover, the platform supports the development of a data-driven digital economy and aims to enhance the efficiency and reliability of digital services while improving decision-making.
Estishraf uses data analytics and artificial intelligence to support government planning and decision-making. The platform provides indicators, analysis and predictive insights to help government agencies anticipate challenges and improve policy development.
Finally, SDAIA is scheduled to receive the award on June 25 during the UN Public Service Forum in Tbilisi, Georgia.
