3rd Saudi Relief Plane Arrives in Poland with 30 Tons of Aid for Ukraine

The third Saudi relief plane arrived on Saturday at the Polish Zusov Airport, near the Ukrainian border, according to the Saudi Press Agency, “SPA”.

The agency said that the plane was carrying 30 tons of the Kingdom’s aid to the Ukrainian people, noting that this aid would be entered across the Polish border into Ukraine.

The  Saudi relief plane includes shelter materials, electric generators, as well as medical supplies.

Humanitarian aid package to Ukraine

Notably, the Kingdom signed an agreement and a memorandum of understanding last week to provide an additional humanitarian aid package to Ukraine in the amount of 400 million US dollars.

It includes providing humanitarian aid from the Kingdom to Ukraine at a value of 100 million US dollars.

The Kingdom has also previously provided urgent medical and shelter aid worth $10 million to refugees who escaped from  Ukraine to neighboring countries, particularly Poland, in coordination with the Polish government and UN organizations.
“The Ukrainian president expressed his thanks and appreciation for Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s willingness to continue mediation efforts to find a solution to the crisis,” the Saudi Press Agency, “SPA”, reported.

It added that “Zelinsky expressed his thanks and appreciation for the Saudi leadership’s decision to provide an additional humanitarian aid package to Ukraine in the amount of $400 million.”

Alleviating the suffering of Ukrainian citizens

The Saudi aid will contribute to alleviating the suffering of Ukrainian citizens in light of the crisis the country is going through.

He stressed that this humanitarian aid is evidence of the Saudi Crown Prince’s keenness to contribute to alleviating human suffering. The Ukrainian people will not forget these noble humanitarian stances that prove the friendship of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Ukraine.

The agency stated that Prince Mohammed bin Salman affirmed “the kingdom’s position in support of everything that contributes to de-escalation, and the kingdom’s readiness to continue mediation efforts.”
