Women’s Participation in Labor Market Jumps from 17% to 35%

Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Ahmed Al-Rajhi, confirmed that women’s participation in the labor market has jumped from 17% to 35%.

Al-Rajhi delivered his speech in a dialogue session entitled “The Budget within the Framework of Improving Services”. This session is part of the 2024 Budget Forum. The event witnessed the participation of a number of ministers.

During the speech, Al-Rajhi added that the vision’s target was to reach 30% in the year 2030, and we exceeded this target today 8 years before the specified date.

Moreover, he pointed out that the Crown Prince has prioritized a new goal- women’s participation in the labor market to reach 40% in the year 2030. “I am convinced that Saudi women are capable of achieving this,” added the minister.

In the Budget Forum, 9 ministers participated in its four dialogue sessions. The first is under the name “Sustainable Finance.” Mohammed Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance, and Faisal Al-Ibrahim notably took part in this session.

In the second session, which will be titled “The Budget within the Framework of Developing Basic Services,” the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi, the Minister of Health Fahad Al-Jalajel and Yousef Al-Benyan, the Minister of Education, will deliver a speech.

As for the third session, it will be under the name “Sustainable Development”. During this session, Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Majed Al-Hogail, Minister of Housing, and Saleh Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport, will give a speech.

Finally, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar AlKhorayef will take part in the fourth session about “Promising Sectors”.
