Her comments followed a visit to El Fasher, where a mission from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) was able to enter the city on Friday for the first time in two months. The visit came after what Brown described as arduous negotiations, following the takeover of the city by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

“People are surviving in extremely precarious conditions,” Brown said. “Some are sheltering in abandoned buildings, while others are living in makeshift structures without access to water or sanitation. These conditions are degrading and pose serious risks to their safety.”
