Umrah Security Forces in Medina ensure the safety and security of worshippers by closely monitoring the pedestrian traffic to and from the Prophet’s Mosque, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
In collaboration with government and service agencies, the security forces are currently facilitating the movement of worshippers to the Prophet’s Mosque through (8) locations dedicated to parking.
Through public and shuttle transportation, the forces ensure smooth movement between the Prophet’s Mosque and Quba Mosque during the month of Ramadan.
Apart from this, Umrah Security Forces noted that the authorities have allocated direct bus routes from various stations to the Prophet’s Mosque, as follows:
- The Sports Stadium
- Sayyid al-Shuhada
- Khalidiya
- Al-Hadiqa
- Al-Salam College
- Shatha District
- King Fahd Bus Station
In addition, they have dedicated Al-Aliya Bus Station to the Quba Mosque.
Certain lanes have been also allocated for BRT buses to avoid traffic congestion, with a focus on internal and external sorting points.
Crucially, the authorities noted that they have employed all human resources to secure all roads leading to and from the Prophet’s Mosque.
Moreover, they are securing pedestrian crossings and managing crowds to ensure that pilgrims are smoothly performing their rituals.
