Millions of users of X, formerly known as Twitter, have reported a mass outage and failed access to certain X webpages, according to the Independent.
The issue began shortly after 1pm and by 1.45pm, the site had received almost 11,866 reports from people around the world experiencing difficulties with Elon Musk’s platform.
The current international outages are not related to internet disruptions or filtering in a specific country, according to Internet observatory Netblocks.org.
On Thursday, X also experienced a localized outage across much of the East Coast of America.
Moreover, more than 11,000 users recorded issues with the app in the UK while over 25,000 reported issues in the US.
This outage was proceeded with a huge fire that broke out at a data center in Hillsboro Technology Park in Oregon, US, on Thursday, where it is believed that X leases space.
“The incident is under control, and the fire department has concluded its on-site response. All personnel were safely evacuated, with no reported injuries,” Digital Realty said.
The problem comes amid a vast array of blows for Musk, including his political defeat in Wisconsin, a great decline in Tesla‘s stock value and mounting criticism over his government role and the so-called ‘DOGE’ initiative.
In April, Tesla sales plummeted 13% with experts linking the drop to Musk’s controversial posts on X and fierce competitions in China from domestic electric vehicle manufacturers.
