Dramatic images captured eleven brave protesters using electric razors to remove their hair during the emotional demonstration. Participants took turns sitting in solidarity, echoing Palestinian women’s struggles. One midwife, a 30-year veteran, articulated her deep anguish. “I feel profound grief, anguish, and penitence regarding Gaza’s ongoing destruction,” she stated. “The UK government’s complicity deeply troubles me; therefore, I shave my head as an outward expression.” She had never undertaken such an action, utilizing her husband’s beard trimmer for this significant protest. She also held a compelling banner that read, “Two mothers are killed every hour in Gaza ceasefire now end the humanitarian blockade.”

UN Warns of Imminent Famine

Gaza endures a severe humanitarian crisis with scarce water, medicine, and food supplies. A UN-backed report predicts famine in northern Gaza, impacting 1.1 million people. The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) report stresses the urgent need for aid and global intervention. Since 7 October, Israel has killed over 53,655 Palestinians in Gaza, mostly women and children.
