Saudi Minister of Communications Boosts AI Sector with Elon Musk

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha has met with Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk to strengthen bilateral cooperation in space and artificial intelligence sectors.

According to Saudi Gazette, the meeting emphasized the Kingdom’s dedication to revolutionizing AI sector with various strategic partnerships.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has organized a workshop with the United States, highlighting the participation of more than 20 entities from both public and private sectors.

With a bold objective to foster digital partnerships between both nations, the workshop focused on two significant pillars: boosting innovation in the telecommunications sector and supporting collaboration between the public and private sectors.

Therefore, the discussions revolved around on opportunities related to Open Radio Access Network (Open RAN) technologies.

Thus, the workshop provided a valuable opportunity to develop a flexible and sustainable digital infrastructure and accelerate the growth of the digital economy in line with Saudi Vision 2030. Such initiatives stand as a testament to the Kingdom’s strategic efforts to develop a comprehensive innovation ecosystem in AI.

Moreover, they aim to bolster collaborations between Saudi companies like Aramco and Qualcomm and international firms in order to launch some of the world’s most advanced AI acceleration cards.
