Trump ratifies additional sanctions on Iran
US President Donald Trump said Thursday that “he has just ratified additional sanctions against Iran”
Regarding the Ukrainian plane that went down near Tehran, Trump said, I have my doubts about what happened to the Ukrainian plane in Iranian airspace.
”Something terrible has happened to the Ukrainian plane, and there must be an immediate investigation,” he said
After the US raid that killed the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, Qassem Soleimani, President Donald Trump will ask allies to cancel the Iranian nuclear deal, according to announcement from Mike Pence, Vice President of the United States, today, Thursday.
”The president will invite our allies, in the coming days, to join the United States in withdrawing from the disastrous nuclear agreement with Iran, and demands that Iran abandon its long history of terrorist violence, abandon its nuclear ambitions, and join the family of nations,” Pence added in an interview on “Fox” channel.
The nuclear agreement in Vienna in 2015 between Iran and the 5 + 1 group fell apart, the agreement has restricted Iran’s nuclear activities in exchange for lifting sanctions on it.
However, and since US withdrew from it in May 2018, it resumed tough sanctions on Iran. In exchange for these sanctions, Iran has repudiated many of the terms of this agreement, which raised the concerns of Europeans and other world powers.
The Trump administration has been in dispute with some important NATO nations, including UK, Germany and France, over his decision in 2018 to withdraw US from the nuclear agreement concluded under the Barack Obama administration.
Trump then resumed economic sanctions on Iran after withdrawing from the agreement, which he said gave Iran more economic benefits than necessary without preventing it enough from developing a nuclear weapon.
