Trump, Al-Sisi Sign Gaza Peace Agreement in Sharm Al-Sheikh

Sharm Al-Sheikh Peace Summit has kicked off in Egypt, under the joint chairmanship of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and his US counterpart Donald Trump, with the attendance of leaders from over 30 countries.

During the summit, Trump, Al-Sisi, as well as the leaders of Qatar and Türkiye, signed the Gaza peace agreement document.

“We’re going to be signing a document that’s going to spell out a lot of rules and regulations and lots of other things, and it’s very comprehensive,” Trump explained.

“This is the day that people across this region and around the world have been working, striving, hoping, and praying for. With the historic agreement we have just signed, those prayers of millions have finally been answered. Together, we have achieved the impossible. At long last, we have Peace in the Middle East,” he added.

In his opening remarks, the US President thanked the leaders of Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye for their intensive diplomatic efforts that have led to the ceasefire agreement.

“The momentous breakthrough we are here to celebrate tonight is MORE than the end of the war in Gaza—with God’s help, it will be a new beginning for the entire Middle East. From this moment forward, we can build a region that is strong, stable, prosperous, and united in rejecting the path of terror once and for all,” Trump hailed the agreement.
