In a remarkable milestone for Saudi sports, Tala Al Mazroa has made history as the first Saudi female athlete to secure a gold medal at the Asian Games, according to Gulf News.
Competing in the eFootball tournament, Al Mazroa showed a historic and undefeated performance that signals a unique talent and strong determination.
She won the gold medal in the eFootball competition at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain 2025 on Sunday, marking a defining moment as the first Saudi woman ever to win a medal at any edition of the Asian Games, whether senior, youth, or indoor and martial arts.
This success came after Al Mazroa defeated her Laotian opponent in the semi-final with scores of 2–1 and 3–0. As for the final match, she achieved victory over Thailand’s competitor with a clean 3–0.
Her achievement represents a new chapter in Saudi women’s sports, crystalizing the Kingdom’s transformation journey towards women’s empowerment in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
It also reflects the Saudi leadership’s ongoing efforts to support women across all sporting fields and unleash new horizons for their participation in global events.
