Taif rose basket breaks the Guinness record with more than 84,000 roses
Since 2018, the Taif rose basket has beaten the global record held by Singapore rose basket by the Guinness World Records Organization.
The Taif Al-Ward Basket measured 12.129 meters in length, 7.98 meters in width, and 1.297 meters in height.
The Taif Al-Ward Festival, which is in its second edition, is sponsored by the Taif Governorate and organized by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Taif Governorate Secretariat under the patronage of Governor of Mecca Region Prince Khaled Al-Faisal.
The gigantic rose basket had a special mechanism that took care of everything, since it contained roughly 26 different sorts of the finest roses, making an 84,450-rose bouquet.
The baskets were made from recyclable materials such as iron, wood, cork, plastic, and PVC, as well as roses.
During the period leading up to the festival’s start, more than 190 young men and women from the governorate of Taif worked on it, putting in more than 168 hours of effort from start to finish.
It is noteworthy that the second edition of the Taif Al-Ward Festival was launched on May 6 and lasts for 14 days, and includes more than 50 live performances and creative performing arts.
The Ministry of Culture aims at the festival to celebrate the cultural connotations represented by the rose industry and to link it with the local culture of the Taif Governorate, which was famous for its roses historically.
