The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) have fostered their collaboration with a new agreement at the Hajj Conference and Exhibition 2025 in Jeddah, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Hajj Ministry and SDAIA have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop innovative digital solutions, use smart products to serve pilgrims and build a joint knowledge base to exchange the best practices and experiences regarding advanced technologies.
Moreover, the MoU involves joint efforts to raise awareness about data and artificial intelligence (AI) through camps, workshops, and conferences. It also includes training programs for the employees of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, and enhancing the Ministry’s participation in the national data platforms.
The Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Abdulfattah Mashat, and the Director of SDAIA National Information Center (NIC), Esam Alwagait, signed the agreement on the sidelines of the Hajj Conference and Exhibition 2025.
This collaboration between the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and SDAIA aims to maximize the utilization of data and AI. Furthermore, leveraging these advanced technologies underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to serving Islam and developing the services provided for pilgrims, in line with the objectives of Vision 2030.
In the light of this, Tawakkalna app offers streamlined services to Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, including the Manasik Gate which has processed over 73 million transactions.
