The Deputy Chief of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), Vice Admiral Charles Bradford Cooper II, met on Sunday with several Saudi military commanders in Riyadh to explore cooperation and discuss issues of common concern.
The Saudi Commander of the Joint Forces, Lieutenant General Fahad bin Hamad Al Salman, received a delegation from the US armed forces led by Vice Admiral Cooper II at the Joint Forces Command in Riyadh, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
During the reception ceremony, both sides explored the friendly bilateral relations and ways to strengthen partnership. Moreover, they discussed a number of issues and topics of common concern.
Several senior Saudi military commanders attended the reception, including the deputy commander of the Joint Forces, Major General Abdullah Al-Ghamdi. Additionally, senior US military officials were present at the reception.
Also on Sunday, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Fahad Bin Abdullah Al-Ghofaili, received Vice Admiral Cooper II in Riyadh, according to the Saudi Ministry of Defense. They discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in military and defense fields, for further coordination between both nations.
The US CENTCOM is one of 11 unified combatant commands of the US Department of Defense. Its area of responsibility extends from Northeast Africa across the Middle East to Central and South Asia.
