Saudi Film Commission Showcases Kingdom’s Cinema at 2026 Toronto International Film Festival
The Saudi Film Commission is taking part in the 51st Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), running from September 10 to 20, 2026 in Toronto, Canada. The Kingdom’s presence includes a dedicated pavilion with representatives from the Commission, AlUla Film, the Red Sea International Film Festival and the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), highlighting the growing footprint of Saudi filmmaking and storytelling at major international film events.
The participation underscores the Commission’s commitment to building international partnerships and expanding collaboration in the film sector, supporting the sustainable growth of Saudi Arabia’s film industry and reinforcing its appeal as a production destination.
At TIFF 2026, the Saudi pavilion serves as a platform to showcase the Kingdom’s film-sector initiatives and the diversity of its filming locations, aiming to attract international filmmakers and production companies. The Commission is also using the event to strengthen engagement with global media and film institutions and to affirm its role as an enabler in the worldwide film industry by promoting competitive incentive programmes and the Kingdom’s integrated production ecosystem.
Founded in 1976, the Toronto International Film Festival has become one of the world’s most prominent film gatherings and a key launchpad for titles ahead of awards season, drawing filmmakers, critics and industry institutions from across the globe.
This year’s 51st edition, marking the festival’s 50th anniversary, features a wide programme of hundreds of films from multiple countries, alongside a film market at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre running until September 16.
