The Ministry of Tourism announced that Saudi Arabia received 17.5 million inbound tourists from January to July 2024, marking a 10% increase from 2023 and a 73% rise from 2019.
The ministry also reported that 4.2 million tourists arrived for leisure in the first seven months of this year, a 25% increase from 2023 and a 656% increase from 2019.
The leaps witnessed in the tourism sector in the Kingdom demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the strategies and plans approved by the Kingdom to build a sustainable tourism sector in line with Saudi Vision 2030. Moreover, the Kingdom achieved its target of reaching 100 million tourists in 2023, seven years ahead of the scheduled date.
Finally, the Kingdom strengthened its position as a global tourist destination, leading the United Nations list for international tourist growth in 2023. It ranked first among G20 countries in international tourist growth and tourism revenue, according to the September 2024 “Global Tourism Barometer Report” by the UN World Tourism Organization.
