Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sport signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Sunday in Paris with the General Sports Authority (GSA) in Bahrain, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The MoU aims at boosting the bilateral cooperation between the Saudi Ministry of Sports and the GSA through the following tracks:
- Enhancing sports investment and marketing
- Promoting the management of sports facilities, maintenance and operation,
- Developing mechanisms for investing in sports facilities
- Establishing academies to discover talents
- Qualifying and developing sports cadres
- Preparing long-term programs for players
- Managing and organizing sports events, including holding exhibitions, organizing tournaments and competitions
- Activating community, women’s, Paralympic and martial arts
- Cooperating in sports medicine and encouraging anti-doping sports

The deal was signed by Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) and Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Olympic Committee in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
