Saudi Robot Captures Attention at Riyadh International Book Fair 2024
“Saudi Robot” is currently welcoming visitors of the Riyadh International Book Fair 2024 and actively interacting with them, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Powered by 102 AI programs, the robot facilitates visitors’ access to the event sites and cultural program including extensive cultural venues and publishing houses.
The robot also speaks 96 languages fluently which enables it to interact with the largest number of international visitors and visitors with several local dialects, including Saudi, Moroccan, Egyptian and Bahraini.
Interestingly, the robot can conduct surveys, determine the number of visitors, and classify visitors according to gender, age and nationality.
The use of the robot in the event stands as a testament to the commitment of the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission to providing visitors with promising experiences through Al adoption.
Eng. Mahmoud bin Ajlan, the robot’s programmer, noted that the robot was designed to welcome visitors, answer their inquiries about publishing houses and publications, and provide audio summaries of books.
Ajlan also indicated that the robot features a screen that displays publications and products with explanatory videos and can smoothly gather customers’ feedback on the exhibition.
The adoption of AI technologies has become more popular in the cultural sectors as international and global exhibitions have recently deployed smart robots to attract visitors and provide them with unique experiences.
