The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Madinah region, in collaboration with the regional Department of Education, launched today the “School Paramedic” program as part of the “Integration” project between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education. The program aims to empower school community members with basic first aid skills to contribute to saving lives and effectively responding to emergencies to improve survival rates.
“School Paramedic” Program
Dr. Ahmed Al-Zahrani, the Director-General of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Madinah region, explained that the training program includes equipping all school community groups with essential first aid skills. In its initial stages, the program targets 37,440 male and female teachers across 13 regions in the Kingdom. Specifically, 2,880 teachers in the Madinah region will undergo training starting today, Sunday, over a period of three consecutive months at the training facilities of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the region.
He indicated that the upcoming phases will witness the implementation of another track for this program, which involves preparing licensed trainers certified by the Saudi Red Crescent Authority. This will include training more than 500 trainees from school health affairs departments within the region’s education administrations. Finally, these trainees will be trained in the “Life Ambassador” first aid program to qualify as trainers capable of providing first aid to those in need in the educational environment of the Madinah region.
