Saudi Fund Supports Hospitals Development in Tunisia

The Saudi Fund for Development has signed agreements with healthcare sector in Tunisia to complete hospitals in Sbiba, Kasserine governorate, and El Jem, Mahdia governorate.

The fund has provided Tunisia with a soft loan to bolster the Saudi-Tunisian relations and boost development in Tunisia, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

To celebrate the occasion, a signing ceremony was held at the Tunisian Ministry of Health in Tunis highlighting the presence of Tunisian Minister of Health Mustapha Ferjani, Saudi Ambassador to Tunisia Abdulaziz Al-Saqr, as well as the fund’s director general for Arab countries operations, Bandar Al-Obaid.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ferjani has expressed sincere appreciation and gratitude to King Salman and his Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their unwavering support of Tunisia.

In the same context, he noted that the current project stands as a testament to the Kingdom’s dedication to elevating the Tunisian healthcare sector.

Meanwhile, Al-Saqr emphasized Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting joint development projects in Tunisia, financed through various Saudi entities. Moreover, he confirmed the fund’s commitment to completing all its initiatives in the country.

So far, the Saudi Fund for Development has financed 32 development projects and programs in Tunisia through soft loans exceeding $1.23 billion and four grants worth over $105 million to develop key sectors.
