Saudi Crown Prince Welcomes Singapore’s Prime Minister
Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud welcomed on Wednesday the Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong at Al Yamamah Palace in Riyadh. An official reception ceremony was held for his country.
The Crown Prince and Singapore’s Prime Minister held an official discussion session.
Content of the Discussion Session
The Crown Prince welcomed his official guest to the Kingdom while the Singaporean Prime Minister expressed his happiness with this visit and his meeting with the Crown Prince.
The aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries, the prospects for joint cooperation and opportunities for its development in various fields were reviewed, in addition to discussing the latest developments in the regional and international situations and the efforts made towards them.
Loong and the Mohammed bin Salman agreed to advance bilateral relations in fields like trade, investment, green energy, digital economy and public sector development.
Both leaders discussed global developments and recent tensions in the Middle East.
Loong thanked KSA for supporting the upgrade of the Gulf Cooperation Council Singapore Free Trade Agreement to consider further economic development, urging Saudi Arabia to consider Singapore its gateway to Southeast Asia.
He appreciated the Crown Prince’s efforts regarding Hajj arrangements for Singaporean pilgrims during Covid-19.
They welcomed cooperation between the two countries under Saudi-Singapore Joint Committee in fields of connectivity, digital economy and innovation.
Signing of MoUs
On the sidelines of the visit, a number of memorandums of understanding were signed in areas of human capital and leadership development, technical and vocational education training, fintech cooperation, energy cooperation and logistics.
