Saudi Artist Creates Animation Film to Portray Founding Figures

The Saudi artist, visual artist and photographer, Nabila Abuljadayel, embodied the stages of the establishment of Saudi history through a recently created 3D-animation-film. The film portrays the three founding figures for the first time using this technology, from the founder of the first Saudi state, Imam Muhammad bin Saud, to the founder of the second Saudi state, Imam Turki bin Abdullah, and finally the founder of the modern Saudi state, King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman.

Abuljadayel told “Al Arabiya Net” that the film was produced and directed by Thuraiya Al-Shahri through Thuraya Media and Art Production Company, collaborating with her mother in its direction.

Moreover, she mentioned that the film, titled “The Spirit of Foundation,” took about a year and two months to produce. It is an artistic work that does not exceed six and a half minutes in duration, concluding with the voice of the artist Rashed Al-Majed.

The Saudi artist also pointed out that the film has a neutral perspective, especially that of the French orientalist Felix Mengin. He witnessed the fall of the first Saudi state.

Who is Nabila Abuljadayel?

The Saudi artist is an ambassador at the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in photography and digital art from Northeastern University in Boston, USA.

Moreover, she studied cinema at Harvard University. Abuljadayel is one of the distinguished photographers and artists known for their remarkable national contributions. The Saudi artist aspires to be present in the future through her art, work, and what her paintings say. Thus, time does not erase her features or her words.
