Saudi Armed Forces are participating in the “Eager Lion 2024” military drill, taking place in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from May 12-23, reported Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
With the participation of the armies of 31 countries, the drill aims to exchange expertise on implementing joint operations and missile air defense operations.
The head of the Saudi Armed Forces Education and Training Authority, Maj. Gen. Adel Al-Balawi clarified that the participants will be trained to implement counter-terrorism and maritime security operations to overcome regional threats.
In July 2023, the initial planning session for the “Eager Lion Drill 2024” conference took place in Amman with representatives from the participating countries.
The main goal of the conference was to review the general framework and objectives of the exercise, with an emphasis on operational coordination between the participating forces, according to the Jordan News Agency (Petra).
During the session, Brig Gen. Hassan Khaldi, Director of Military Training, urged the participants to stick to creative and constructive thinking and flexible planning in order to achieve the objectives set for the drill.
