Saudi Arabia’s Outer Edge Forum Improves Web Apps System 3

The Outer Edge Web 3 Innovation Forum was held at the Garage headquarters, organized by Animoca Brands and Edge Off to discuss the impacts of Web 3 and AI technologies on economic systems and society, according to WAS.

Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan, President of the Saudi Electronic Sports Federation explained, in his opening speech, that the Kingdom seeks to become a center for the game.

He stressed that gaming in recent years has witnessed a noticeable transformation around the world. He also stated that gaming isn’t merely entertainment but also serves as a powerful platform for social cohesion, innovation, and empowerment. Initiatives like organizing the eSports World Cup, scheduled for Riyadh next summer, signify a significant global event for players worldwide.

On her part, Dr. Maryam Noah, Vice President of the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology for the Future Economics Sector, emphasized the city’s role as a national laboratory in accelerating technological development.
In the same vein, Omar Al-Shabaan, the Executive Director of the Garage, discussed the Garage as the region’s largest business incubator for deep technologies. It supports entrepreneurs and innovators, housing over 240 startup companies from 50+ countries worldwide.

Furthermore, Animoca Brandza CEO Yat Siu introduced Web 3, covering blockchain, cryptocurrencies, electronic games, decentralized applications, and smart contracts. He also explained Web 3’s vision: to build a more open, secure, and user-focused Internet, empowering users to control their data.

In conclusion, the Outer Edge Forum, the first of its kind in the Kingdom and outside America, began with sessions in which experts and visionaries from the Middle East and North Africa discussed the future of Web 3 applications and artificial intelligence for smart cities.
