The Saudi Governor of the Digital Government Authority (DGA) and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Suwaiyan, has concluded his visit to the United Kingdom after meeting several leaders and officials from public and privates sectors.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the visit aimed to enhance cooperation between the Kingdom and the UK in the field of digital economy and to learn more about international experiences in digital government.
During the visit, Al-Suwaiyan participated in the 21st edition of the Annual Middle East and North Africa Conference, where he delivered a speech laying out Saudi Arabia’s leading model in digital transformation.
He also showcased the Kingdom’s best practices and success stories in the field of digital government, aiming to capitalize on experiences in this promising field.
Al-Suwaiyan met with the Parliamentary Secretary for the British Cabinet Office, Alex Burghart; the British Minister for Data and Digital Infrastructure, Julia Lopez; and the Minister for Technology and the Digital Economy, Saqib Bhatti.

He also held meetings with several officials and executives of major companies. During these meetings, they discussed expanding strategic partnerships in the field of digital government between both countries.
The Saudi Ambassador to the UK, Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, received Al-Suwaiyan and his accompanying delegation at the embassy. They explored the DGA efforts in developing digital government services and discussed ways to enhance cooperation.
Moreover, Al-Suwaiyan met with the Saudi Cultural Attaché in the UK, Dr. Amal bint Jameel Fatani. He also held a meeting with a group of Saudi scholarship students at the Saudi Cultural Mission in London, where he discussed leading initiatives in digital transformation and strategic directions for digital government.
In the meeting, he also listened to their ideas and the challenges they face when dealing with digital government services, seeking to improve their digital experience and deliver services that meet their expectations.
This visit is part of the DGA’s efforts to promote partnerships and international presence, driven by its role to lead international efforts to achieve a sustainable digital economy in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
