Saudi Arabia to Host IDRA 2026 Conference on Water Desalination

The International Desalination and Reuse Association (IDRA) has selected Saudi Arabia to host a global conference focusing on water challenges and desalination projects.

Accordingly, the Kingdom is officially set to host the 2026 IDRA World Congress on Desalination and Water Reuse Solutions, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Choosing Saudi Arabia was part of the current IDRA 2026 congress in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi under the theme of “Addressing water scarcity.”

The selection stands as a testament to the Kingdom’s pivotal role in supporting the water sector.

Crucially, the Kingdom produces a volume of desalinated water equivalent to daily global oil production.

Furthermore, the Kingdom has created various desalination water projects and maintains a track record of technical innovation in facing water scarcity and fulfilling renewable energy.

Looking ahead, IDRA’s 2026 congress represents a valuable opportunity gathering Saudi water officials and experts with international experts from 60 countries to share the Kingdom’s experience in facing water scarcity.

Therefore, the conference will serve as a platform to explore the latest technical innovations and sustainable solutions in the water sector.

Thus, entities and officials can build strategic partnerships with various countries and organizations.

Recently, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Jeddah has launched the International Water Research Center, a significant initiative designed to achieve sustainable solutions and resolve the global climate crisis.
