The Saudi Defense Minister, Prince Khalid bin Salman, has on Thursday arrived in Spain‘s capital, Madrid, on an official visit to strengthen bilateral ties and discuss topics of mutual interest, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
At the Spanish Defense Ministry HQ, the Spanish Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, received Prince Khalid bin Salman in an official ceremony.
After that, both officials held formal discussions, with the attendance of delegations from both defense ministries. During these discussions, both Defense Ministers reviewed the Saudi-Spanish relations.
They also explored areas of defense cooperation and ways to strengthen and develop them to achieve the mutual interests of the two friendly countries.
Furthermore, the Saudi Defense Minister and his Spanish counterpart discussed ways to promote regional and international security and stability.
The reception ceremony was attended by the Saudi Ambassador to Spain, Princess Haifa Bint Abdulaziz Al Mogrin, as well as Saudi senior defense officials. Meanwhile, the Spanish Secretary General of Defense Policies at the Ministry of Defense, General Juan Francisco Nuniez, and other Spanish senior officials attended the reception ceremony.
Prince Khalid bin Salman has just concluded an official visit to Italy, where he discussed with his Italian counterpart defense ties and prospects for enhancing cooperation in defense industries, research and development, and technology transfer.
The discussions also addressed the latest regional and international developments and topics of common interest.
