As the world marked the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on October 17, Saudi Arabia has celebrated its leading role and persistent efforts in offering aid to countries worldwide, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Saudi Arabia is one of the world’s largest donors and a role model in the field of humanitarian work. It has shown a solid commitment to providing assistance to the least developed countries around the world.
Through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), the Kingdom provides relief and humanitarian aid to several countries hit by crises and disasters that have led to a surge in poverty.
Since its establishment, KSrelief has implemented 3,070 projects in 102 countries, with a total value exceeding $7.052bn. These projects cover several relief sectors, including food security, agriculture, early recovery, water and environmental sanitation, health, education, shelter, as well as other vital sectors.
KSrelief’s projects have positively impacted the lives of millions of people across the world, demonstrating the Kingdom’s noble values and strong commitment to humanitarian aid under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman.
In the light of this, KSrelief has been keen on strengthening its international partnerships and building strong relations with UN organizations and other relevant institutions, to contribute to reducing poverty rates worldwide and building a better future for peoples and countries in need.
On the occasion of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, Saudi Arabia’s contributions to international efforts towards eliminating poverty are evident. This event sends a strong message to the international community on the urgency of collaborative work to mitigate the impacts of poverty and raise awareness about its negative implications.
