Kingdom Reaffirms Support for Palestinian Statehood
Saudi Arabia reiterated its steadfast support for establishing an independent Palestinian state within 1967 borders, designating East Jerusalem as its capital. President of the Saudi Human Rights Commission (HRC), Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri, and head of the Saudi delegation, delivered this message at the council’s 58th session, underscoring the Kingdom’s unwavering diplomatic stance, reiterating support for an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, aligned with 1967 borders, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Vision 2030 Drives Inclusive Reforms
Al-Tuwaijri highlighted Vision 2030’s role in advancing equality, nondiscrimination, and development rights through nationwide legal and social transformations. She noted the initiative’s success in empowering women, youth, and marginalized communities, including migrants and persons with disabilities, while elevating life quality nationwide.
The commission president noted comprehensive legal reforms strengthening protections for Saudi Arabia’s diverse population of over 15 million expatriates. These measures ensure rights for residents from 60+ nationalities, aligning with global human rights standards.
Kingdom Promotes Global Peace, Mediates Ukraine Crisis
Al-Tuwaijri reiterated the Kingdom’s dedication to international peace via UN Charter principles and proactive crisis resolution. She outlined Saudi Arabia’s mediation efforts, including Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s successful prisoner exchanges between Russia and Ukraine.
The official stressed the need to counter hate speech, religious intolerance, and eroding family values to safeguard societal harmony. “Universal human rights require societies rooted in mutual respect,” she asserted, advocating cross-cultural dialogue to bridge divides.
