RSAF Takes Part in UAE-hosted Desert Flag Exercise

The Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) will take part in the Desert Flag 10 joint exercise in the UAE, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Desert Flag is an annual joint multinational exercise taking place in Al-Dhafra Air Base in the UAE. It aims to exchange expertise in the fields of planning and execution, enhance combat readiness, and strengthen relations with the forces of the participating countries.

In the light of this, the Deputy Commander of the RSAF, Major General Pilot Talal Al-Ghamdi, checked the preparations of the participating group and the readiness of the crews and system before they departed King Faisal Air Base in the northern sector.

The RSAF will join the Desert Flag 10 exercise with the F-15C aircraft system, with its entire air, technical and support crews.

The three-week multinational exercise involves participating forces from 13 countries, including the US, the UK and South Korea, according to the Korea Herald.

Last month, the Royal Saudi Air Force took part in the Red Flag-Nellis 25-2, which took place in the Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, US. The exercise saw the participation of 1,500 participants from 15 units representing the US Air Force and Marine Corps, as well as the Royal Saudi Air Force, the UAE Air Force and the Turkish Air Force.

The RSAF participated with a Typhoon aircraft system, including its entire air, technical, and support personnel. They executed defensive and offensive counter air operations, close air support, and combat search and rescue operations.
