Riyadh has officially kicked off the second edition of the Human Capability Initiative (HCI) Conference, held under the patronage of Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Human Capability Development Program (HCDP) Committee.
Held at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center, this year’s conference is themed “Beyond Readiness” and brings together more than 300 influential leaders, policymakers, and experts from academia, business, and the non-profit sector. Participants hail from 38 countries, reflecting the event’s global reach and significance.

Minister of Education and HCDP Executive Committee Chairman Yousef Al-Benyan noted that this second edition builds on the momentum of the inaugural conference, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s leadership in shaping the future of human capability development worldwide.
The agenda includes over 100 dialogue sessions across four main platforms. These sessions aim to spark the exchange of insights, showcase best practices, and explore forward-thinking approaches to equipping individuals and communities for a rapidly evolving world. Moreover, key topics include innovative models for empowerment, future skills, and enhanced cooperation between public, private, and non-profit entities to craft sustainable, impactful solutions.
UNESCO
Among the conference’s standout events are a ministerial roundtable featuring 20 international ministers and a session by the UNESCO Executive Board. The event will also witness the signing of multiple agreements and the launch of new initiatives aimed at advancing human development locally and globally.
Organized by the HCDP—an essential component of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030—and in partnership with the Ministry of Education, the conference sets the tone for a week focused on human potential. Additionally, the Ministry will also host the Education Global Exhibition (EDGEx) in Riyadh from April 13 to 16, providing a dynamic platform for educational innovation and unlocking future potential.
