Under the patronage of Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) Board of Directors, Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia will host the third edition of the Global AI Summit in Riyadh, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Scheduled on September 10-12, 2024 at King Abdulaziz International Convention Center, SDAIA will hold the highly-anticipated summit with the participation of more than 300 speakers.
Global AI Summit
The Global AI Summit will bring together specialists, experts, influential policy and system makers and heads of tech companies from over 100 countries to develop ideas and visions which contribute to forging general frameworks and ethics that control the uses of AI technologies.
Furthermore, they will seek to maximize the benefits of AI solutions in accelerating development across various sectors to build a better future for next generations.
Several influential international figures in the fields of data and AI will attend the summit, including the Permanent State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport, Stefan Schnorr; Head of NVIDIA’s Global Center for AI Technology, Professor Simon See; CEO of Posen AI, Alex Smola; CEO of Accenture, Julie Sweet; CEO of Oliver Wyman, Nick Studer; CEO of Qualcomm, Cristiano Amon; UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology, Amandeep Gill; and CEO of Dell for Technologies Services, Douglas Schmitt.
Key Focus
The Global AI Summit will feature the signing of several local and international agreements and memoranda of understanding, in addition to the launch of Saudi-led international initiatives that support other countries in the fields of data technologies and AI.
The Summit will host more than 120 sessions and workshops that explore international interest in data and AI. Moreover, the Summit will discuss several topics, including innovation and industry in AI; shaping a better future for AI; AI on the global and local scales; the integration of human and AI intelligence; generative AI; AI ethics; and the impact of AI on smart cities.
Vision 2030
The Global AI Summit aligns with the objectives of Vision 2030 which aims to build a knowledge and technology-driven economy and transform Saudi Arabia into a global technology hub for AI-based cutting-edge technologies.
It will represent a pivotal turning point in the Kingdom’s technological development. It also comes in line with SDAIA’s accelerated efforts to achieve Vision 2030 objectives.
The Summit’s third edition builds on the success of the first two editions, in 2020 and 2022. Both summits yielded positive outcomes which included launching Saudi-led international projects and initiatives, such as the International Center for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE).
