The World Energy Council announced that the 27th World Energy Congress, hosted by Saudi Arabia through the Ministry of Energy, will take place from October 26 to 29, 2026, in Riyadh. The conference will be held under the theme “Inspiring Change for Energy Transformations.”
The 27th edition of the conference aims to stimulate inspiration, combining ambition and vision with promising, achievable opportunities in light of varying economic factors and regional conditions in the energy sector as a whole.
Inspiring Changes for Energy Transformations
In this context, the conference slogan emerges: ‘Inspiring Changes for Energy Transformations,’ following the slogan of the previous conference edition, ‘Reshaping the Energy Landscape,’ which was held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, last April. This aims to translate the world’s efforts in energy transformations from thinking to execution.
In this regard, the slogan expresses the aspiration to connect future thinking with practical implementation in a way that builds a better future for energy, leading to a better life for humanity and creating favorable environments for people to live in.”
On this occasion, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy, stated: ‘ Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the World Energy Conference for the year 2026 comes at a significant time for the global energy sector. Moreover, it is experiencing continuous transformations and developments in this vital sector, whose economic and social importance is increasing daily.’
Saudi Vision 2030
The Kingdom will strive through organizing this conference to achieve the goals intended by the conference, which align with the aspirations of (Saudi Vision 2030). The choice of the Kingdom to host this global event reflects appreciation for its prominent role in the energy sector and its ongoing leadership in achieving energy transformations.

The Secretary General and CEO of the World Energy Council, Dr. Angela Wilkinson, stated: “Our choice of this slogan for the 27th World Energy Conference, which will be held in 2026 in Riyadh, aims to focus on the effectiveness of our work today to achieve successful transformations in the energy sector worldwide. Humanity stands at a historic juncture for the energy sector, where there is not just one option, but multiple choices that contribute to continued development within diverse geographical frameworks.”
Dr. Wilkinson added: “We aim and advocate for a change in thinking and measurement frameworks, so that societies can move from achieving easy, incremental improvements, towards transformative results in different areas and to varying degrees.”
Finally, the World Energy Council‘s business model aims to unite all stakeholders for leadership dialogues across generations, enhancing the practical implementation of energy aspirations in all regions and sectors.
