Riyadh Governor to sponsor Mass weddings
His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh, Honorary President of the Mobility Disability Association for Adults “Harkiah”, will patronize next Monday the eleventh mass marriage ceremony for persons with disabilities, at Al-Khozama Hall in Riyadh in the presence of members of the Board of Directors.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Horkiah” Society, Engineer Nasser bin Muhammad Al-Mutawa, praised His Highness for sponsoring the ceremony, noting that this sponsorship stems from his keenness to support beneficiaries of persons with mobility disabilities, touch their needs, empower them, fulfill their desires to marry, and overcome the difficulties that hinder their life path.
Al-Mutawa indicated that 156 people with mobility disabilities will be married in the eleventh marriage ceremony, with the support of the movement’s partners and some entities, supportive individuals, and sponsors, based on their role in social responsibility.
Through group marriage parties, the state seeks to assist persons with mobility disabilities who are about to marry and empower them by providing all the requirements for marriage.
Moreover, efforts are exerted to support them financially and assist them in kind by contributing to furnishing the house and providing household appliances.
Al-Mutawa explained that Harkiah is keen to organize rehabilitation and guidance courses for those who are about to marry, to learn about their duties, responsibilities, and their role in forming an ideal family, in addition to how to deal with marital disputes and their good management, and the most important factors for the success of a marriage.
He pointed out that the total number of beneficiaries of the marriage program since its inception is more than 1,500 grooms and brides, and 10 group weddings.
It is noteworthy that the group marriage program in Mobility aims to achieve the desires of persons with motor disabilities to marry, achieve family and psychological stability for persons with motor disabilities, achieve their wish for motherhood and paternity through the birth of children, and encourage marriage at moderate costs and rationalization of its expenses.
The group marriage program also includes some services, whereby people with mobility disabilities can search for a partner through the “Tawafuq Mobility” platform in the association, as well as holding educational and counseling sessions on marital and family life.
