The Saudi Red Sea Authority issued the first package of its licenses, which included three operators of tourist marine marinas for each of the Al-Ahlam tourist marina in the cities of Jeddah and Jizan, and the Red Sea marina in the city of Jeddah.
This came within the framework of its tasks, which include issuing the necessary licenses and permits to regulate navigational and marine tourism activities, and in an effort to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in building a promising coastal tourism sector.
This step revitalizes the authority’s roles, develops marina operations, improves the quality of services provided to tourists, preserves the marine environment, regulates marine vessels, in addition to encouraging coastal tourism.
The Authority conducts field visits to tourist marinas in Jeddah, Jizan, Al-Laith, and Yanbu. It seeks to provide support in granting licenses to operators and to ensure compliance with international standards. It also ensures the readiness of these facilities to receive visitors.
The Authority’s field visits led to significant improvements in tourist marinas, aligned with its standards. Moreover, these standards were implemented by the private sector, a strategic partner in developing coastal tourism in the Kingdom.
These new licenses mark a significant step forward for coastal tourism in the Kingdom. They show the Authority’s dedication to regulating marine tourism, ensuring a safe environment for both local and international visitors. Furthermore, this aims to position the Red Sea coast as a top global tourist destination.
