OIC Secretary-General Calls for Ceasefire, End to Israeli Aggression in Gaza

At the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha demanded an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. He urged an end to Israeli aggression and called for the full withdrawal of Israeli forces.
Ceasefire in Gaza
Taha strongly condemned the ongoing actions of Israeli occupation forces, accusing them of genocide, ethnic cleansing, forced displacement, systematic destruction, and imposing an illegal blockade on Gaza that weaponizes starvation. He also denounced the expansion of settlements—particularly in the E1 area of Jerusalem—and the killing of journalists, stressing that such crimes must face international legal prosecution.
War Crimes, International Responsibility
The secretary-general emphasized that Israel’s continued war crimes against Palestinians require a stronger and more decisive international response. He also highlighted the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and condemned Israeli government statements about establishing full military control over the Strip and advancing a “greater Israel vision,” which he described as a blatant violation of international law.
International Recognition
Taha urged the enforcement of resolutions from the recent Joint Arab-Islamic Summit held in Riyadh. He also welcomed the recognition of the State of Palestine by several nations and called on other countries to take the same step in support of Palestinian statehood.
