No Indications of Severe Winter: Saudi Arabia to Start Final Third

Saudi Arabia’s National Center of Meteorology (NCM) stressed that there are no indications of a severe winter as the Kingdom will enter the final third of winter by the end of next week, Saudi Gazette reported.

The NCM’s official spokesman, Hussein Al-Qahtani, stated the center’s recent weather reports debunk the misleading claims that spread on social media platforms and the center had previously denied.

Apart from this, the NCM expects moderate to heavy thunderstorms as well as hail and active winds in Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha regions.

As for Madinah, Qassim, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, light to moderate rainfall is also expected. Furthermore, some regions such as Tabuk, the Northern Borders, and Al-Jouf may have fog formation.

According to the NCM report, surface wind patterns are expected over the Red Sea. It also forecasts northeasterly to northerly winds, shifting to northwesterly during the evening.

In the northern and central parts, wave heights will range from 1 to 2 meters. Meanwhile, it will range from 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the south.
