Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman stated that the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) has already fulfilled more than half of its targets before the deadline of the Saudi Vision 2030.
The minister also indicated that they have successfully achieved 13 out of the program’s 23 targets, meanwhile other goals are currently underway, Arab News reported.
Then, Prince Abdulaziz noted that this remarkable success was driven by a robust action plan and effective collaboration between the Ministry of Energy and NIDLP.
“The mechanisms adopted by NIDLP are closely aligned with those of the Ministry of Energy, allowing for strong, collaborative outcomes,” he said during the NIDLP Annual Ceremony 2024.
In addition, the minister shed light on human talent’s pivotal role within NIDLP and the energy system and their efforts to boost supply chain resilience and lead sustainability.
In the same context, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef, who also leads the NIDLP Program Committee, shared further program highlights.
Alkhorayef mentioned that the sectors targeted by the initiative contributed SR433 billion ($115.3 billion) to the Kingdom’s gross domestic product by the third quarter of 2024. Therefore, it indicated a 2.4% growth compared to 2023.
Moreover, there was a noticeable increase of exports from these sectors by 11.1% from third quarter of 2023 to the same period in 2024.
As for employment, that total employment across its sectors surged to 2.1 million by the third quarter of 2024. Approximately 660,000 of those employees were Saudi nationals, with women accounting for nearly 200,000 of the workforce.
