King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah has achieved a remarkable milestone, receiving 50 million passengers in 2025, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
This figure marks the highest ever recorded by a Saudi airport since the launch of civil aviation in the Kingdom, and positions KAIA on the list of the world’s Mega Airports in terms of passenger numbers.
Moreover, this accomplishment underscores the qualitative transformation at KAIA and its growing status as a regional hub and a national gateway connecting Saudi Arabia to the world.
It emphasizes King Abdulaziz International Airport’s pivotal role in cementing the Kingdom’s standing as a global tourist destination and a gateway to the Two Holy Mosques by streamlining the movement of visitors and pilgrims. It also highlights KAIA’s support for the tourism sector in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the economy and offer a special travel experience.
On this occasion, Jeddah Airports Company (JEDCO) received the passenger no. 50 million at KAIA – a French citizen arriving on a Saudia flight to take part in a sports tournament in Jeddah – with a souvenir to celebrate the new milestone.
JEDCO CEO, Mazen Johar, highlighted the significance of this achievement, saying that the 50-million milestone underscores the high operational readiness of KAIA and marks a pivotal step in preparations to double this figure in the coming years.
