Flynas Launches 1st Direct Flights Between Riyadh, Aleppo

Flynas, the world’s leading low-cost carrier and the first in the Middle East, celebrated the launch of its first direct flights between Riyadh and Aleppo in Syria, in a step that strengthens its international network and supports air connectivity in line with national goals in the tourism and aviation sectors, as well as Saudi Vision 2030.

The launch ceremony was held on Aug. 1 at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, attended by the deputy minister and chargé d’affaires at the Syrian Embassy in the Kingdom, Mohsen Mahbash, along with representatives from Flynas and Riyadh Airports Company. Passengers on the inaugural flight were welcomed with commemorative gifts, while representatives from Flynas and Aleppo International Airport received the flight upon its arrival in Aleppo.

Flynas will operate two direct weekly flights between Riyadh and Aleppo, offering travelers flexible options and meeting growing demand for travel between the two brotherly countries. The new route follows the company’s move to become the first Saudi carrier to resume flights to Damascus in June last year.

With the addition of the Riyadh-Aleppo route, the number of flights and services operated by Flynas between Saudi Arabia and Syria rises to 26 flights per week. The company operates 14 weekly flights between Riyadh and the Syrian capital Damascus, at a rate of two flights per day, in addition to 7 weekly flights between Jeddah and Damascus, one direct flight daily, as well as three direct weekly flights between Dammam and Damascus.

The new flights form part of Flynas’ strategic growth and expansion plan launched under the slogan “We connect the world to the Kingdom,” in parallel with the objectives of the National Civil Aviation Strategy, which seeks to enable national carriers to help connect the Kingdom to 250 international destinations, accommodate 330 million passengers, and host 150 million tourists annually by 2030. The route also aligns with the objectives of the Guests of God Program to facilitate access to the Two Holy Mosques.

Flynas, the world’s leading low-cost carrier and the first in the Middle East, is the first airline listed on the Saudi main market (Tadawul). It operates more than 2,000 weekly flights to more than 80 domestic and international destinations across 38 countries through 156 routes, and has carried 110 million passengers since its launch in 2007.
