Lebanon condemns Houthi attack against Saudi Arabia

The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen had announced the destruction of a booby-trapped boat targeting the Kingdom’s territory. The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned what it called a “terrorist attack” on Saudi Arabia with a booby-trapped boat early on Wednesday.

“The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants firmly condemns the terrorist assault on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at dawn today, through a booby-trapped boat, and earlier, by a jet moving towards the Kingdom,” it stated in a statement posted on its official Twitter page.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants underlines the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s constant support of the government and people of Lebanon against everything that threatens their security, stability, and the safety of their inhabitants,” Lebanon stated in its statement.

Due to remarks made by the Lebanese Minister of Information, George Kordahi, concerning the conflict in Yemen, Saudi Arabia withdrew its ambassador from Lebanon in late October and expelled the Lebanese ambassador.

Riyadh blocked Lebanese products from reaching its shores, establishing an economic and diplomatic blockade on Lebanon.
