King Salman Int’nal Arabic Language Complex to Hold Award Ceremony
The closing ceremony of the “King Salman International Arabic Language Complex Award” will take place on Sunday, November 5, 2023.
This award ceremony will honor the winners from both individuals and institutions in its second edition for the year 2023.
The General Secretary of the complex, Dr. Abdullah Al-Washmi, explained that the award aligns with the complex’s strategy and its various work trajectories.
It integrates with the diverse programs of the complex in linguistic planning, educational programs, cultural programs, and linguistic computing.
He indicated that the award’s activities would escalate in its upcoming edition regarding its axes and work scopes.
Winners Announcement
The complex recently announced the winners of its International Award in its second edition of 2023 through its four branches.
In the category of institutions, the Arabic Language Education and Learning Award was awarded to “Institute of Arabic Language Education for Speakers Other Than Umm al-Qura University”, and Arabic Language Computing Branch Award and Service in Modern Techniques for “Qatar Computing Research Institute”, Arabic Language Research and Scientific Studies Branch Award “Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University”, and the Award for the Dissemination of Linguistic Awareness and Creativity of Linguistic Community Initiatives for the “Jordanian Arabic Language Complex. In addition to awards for the individual category.
Judging Process
The winners were announced after completing scientific deliberations and reviewing reports by the judging panels, following three consecutive judging rounds overseen by independent committees.
The committees consisted of eighteen judges from six different countries. They judged the works of 277 nominees, including 140 individuals and 137 institutions, based on defined criteria.
The criteria included indicators measuring creativity, innovation, excellence in performance, inclusivity, widespread impact, and effectiveness.
Prize Amounts
The total value of the prizes allocated for individuals and institutions amounted to more than 1.6 million Riyals (1,600,000), in addition to commemorative shields and appreciation certificates.
The King Salman International Arabic Language Complex is an institution dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the Arabic language.
It holds an annual award ceremony to honor individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions in various fields related to the Arabic language.
The ceremony for the year 2023 is scheduled to take place on November 5, 2023, under the patronage of the Minister of Culture, His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan.
The award aims to recognize excellence in Arabic language education, linguistic computing, scientific research in Arabic language, and community linguistic awareness initiatives.
