King Abdulaziz Public Library has announced the launch of a specialized exhibition on horses and equestrian heritage in honor of Saudi Founding Day. The exhibition will open on Tuesday at the library’s Khurais Road branch and will continue through the end of August 2026.
The showcase brings together a rich selection of materials from the library’s collections, including rare manuscripts, historical documents, photographs, Islamic miniatures, and beautifully illustrated books that highlight the deep-rooted tradition of horsemanship in Arab and Islamic culture.

For four decades, the library has played a vital role in preserving and promoting this cultural legacy. It has also established a dedicated equestrian center that houses more than 12,000 items, featuring some of the most notable and rare Arabic and international publications on horses.

Among the exhibition’s highlights is a rare collection of horse photographs captured by Princess Alice of Britain during her visit to Saudi Arabia in 1938, offering a unique historical glimpse into the Kingdom’s equestrian heritage.
