Indian Amb. to Saudi Arabia Hails Cultural Events for Deepening Ties
The Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia, Suhel Ajaz Khan, underscored the significant role of cultural and entertainment events in deepening Saudi-Indian ties.
The Indian Ambassador praised the events organized by the Saudi Ministry of Media and the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) under the “Global Harmony 2” initiative, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
On the occasion of launching the Indian Cultural Week, as part of the Global Harmony 2 initiative, Ajaz Khan pointed to the success of the 2024 edition of the initiative, expecting this year’s edition to celebrate a wider range of Indian arts, cuisine and handicrafts, with the participation of several artists and creators.
Moreover, the Indian Ambassador highlighted visitors’ excitement to explore India’s cultural diversity during last year’s event, adding that this year’s edition will see stronger interest and broader participation.
The Indian Cultural Week features numerous concerts, folkloric performances, cultural shows, art and food stalls, showcasing the richness and diversity of India’s art and cultural heritage.
The Saudi Media Ministry launched Global Harmony 2 initiative on Sunday, in collaboration with GEA, as part of the Quality of Life Program to support the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The initiative will showcase the cultures of 14 different countries, including India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Egypt, Pakistan, Yemen, Sudan, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Bangladesh, Uganda, and Ethiopia.
The Global Harmony initiative aims to highlight the lives of expatriates in Saudi Arabia, covering various aspects such as their professional and family lives, their social and recreational activities, their contribution to the Kingdom’s economy, and their success stories.
Furthermore, it focuses on displaying the diversity and richness of their cultures, their successful integration and harmony with Saudi society, and the ongoing efforts by both the public and private sectors to improve the quality of life in Saudi cities.
