India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared Thursday that India and Israel will collaborate on the joint development, production, and transfer of defense technologies, while also advancing negotiations on a free trade agreement, according to Reuters.
During the meeting, the two leaders agreed that “there is no place for terrorism in the world,” as he concluded a two-day visit focused on enhancing bilateral ties, according to Arab News.
“India and Israel are clear that there is no place for terrorism in the world, in any form… We will oppose it shoulder to shoulder. We will always oppose it in the future,” Modi said at a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem.
The cooperation will also feature “horizon scanning,” a forward-looking initiative designed to foster India’s strategic capabilities, risk assessment, and technology planning.
The partnership will be driven by joint research, capacity building, and AI-powered tools.

Israel has also agreed to allow 50,000 more Indian workers into the country over the next five years, with a special focus on manufacturing sectors.
Modi underscored his commitment to consulting and cooperating with all partners in efforts to establish peace in West Asia.
He also noted that the Gaza peace plan of President Donald Trump has opened a pathway to peace, and India has extended its full support to the ongoing efforts.
The visit came just days after India took a decisive step, joining more than 100 other nations that condemned Israel’s de facto expansion in the occupied West Bank.
In September, the two countries signed a bilateral agreement designed to streamline mutual investment flows and boost economic cooperation.
