The Global Jewellery Investment Forum kicked off in September 11 in Jeddah, bringing together government officials and private sector representatives from Saudi Arabia and India, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Organized by the Indian Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), the forum will open new avenues for growing investments and successful partnerships that will further support the global jewelry industry.
Supported by the Invest Saudi initiative, the event witnessed the participation of more than 200 jewelry manufacturers and companies from India, Saudi Arabia and other countries around the world.
The forum’s opening featured presentations by key organizations, including the Saudi Investment Promotion Authority and the GJEPC, highlighting investment opportunities and available services in the gemstone and jewelry sector.
India’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, noted that India stands as a global leader in the jewelry and gold industry, with over five million employees working in jewelry sector.
Khan also revealed that the forum and exposition will become an annual event in Jeddah, with ambitions and plans to expand their scale and influence each year by gathering pioneering jewelry houses and manufacturers from India, Saudi Arabia, and worldwide.
Notably, the forum discussed multiple topics regarding facilitating trade, retailing, manufacturing and driving the future of jewelry for the GCC consumer.
Moreover, it seeks to strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a future hub for jewelry design and innovation, and to strengthen strategic partnerships across the value chain.
In the light of this, the exhibition stands as the first specialized business-to-business (B2B) event in the Kingdom.
