At the third Global AI Summit (GAIN), the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has unveiled plans to enhance cooperation with NEOM in data and artificial intelligence (AI) sector.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), SDAIA signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NEOM to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise in operational activities, research, and innovation in the data and AI sector in NEOM.
This cooperation will contribute to achieving NEOM’s objectives in this field, being a groundbreaking project in the development of cognitive cities.
During the third GAIN Summit, SDAIA President, Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, and NEOM CEO, Eng. Nadhmi Al Nasr, signed the MoU.

This collaboration emphasizes the efforts made towards enhancing integration between government and private sectors, in line with Vision 2030 objectives.
Moreover, SDAIA, through these partnerships, aims to support and encourage sectors to achieve mutual integration. It also aims to support digital economy and innovation in AI-related sectors, to establish the Kingdom’s status and fulfill its economic aspirations related to information, data and AI sectors.
In the light of this, SDAIA is implementing several national research projects to develop the AI sector and foster AI research and innovation in Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, the Global AI Summit (GAIN) is taking place from September 10-12, 2024 in Riyadh. It brings together more than 300 speakers, as well as global leaders, experts, policy and system makers, and heads of tech companies from over 100 countries.
It aims to develop ideas and visions which contribute to forging general frameworks and ethics that control the uses of AI technologies. So far, GAIN has seen the signing of many agreements and MoUs that aim to enhance collaboration in AI innovations in the Kingdom.
