The Union of Arab Chambers (UAC) has appointed Hassan bin Moejeb Al-Huwaizi, President of the Federation of Saudi Chambers (FSC), as its first Vice President.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the announcement came during the UAC’s 135th session, which is being held in Doha.
The choice emphasizes the Kingdom’s pivotal role in developing joint Arab economic work and mirrors the Arab business sector’s confidence in the pioneering role of the Kingdom’s government and the Saudi business sector.
In addition to his new role, Al-Huwaizi holds several prominent positions, including Vice President of the Federation of GCC Chambers, and President of the Abha Chamber.
He expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to the UAC and highlighted its effective role in fostering the economic cooperation between Arab countries.
Al-Huwaizi also stressed the necessity to further increase intra-Arab trade as it only constitutes 13.8% of the total foreign trade of Arab countries.
He explained that the figure is modest compared to other regional economic blocs.
Thus, he called for intensified efforts to eliminate regulatory customs and procedural barriers that may challenge trade among Arab nations.
