Egypt achieved progress in the electricity domain over the past five years, said director of the energy sector at the African Union Commission Cheikh Bedda on Sunday.
During the opening session of Al Ahram third energy conference, Bedda called for enhancing the institutional framework to boost power linkage projects among African countries.
The conference is held under the theme of “Energy, Investment Horizons and Development Opportunities”.
He said the linkage projects help increase economic growth rates and achieve development in the African countries.
He called on African states to make the best use of their natural resources and exchange expertise to boost the African economy.
