Eastern Health Cluster Allocates 70 Centers for Health Services
Eastern Health Cluster allocated 70 primary health care centers and preventive medicine centers affiliated with the cluster, reported Saudi Press Agency.
These centers will provide voluntary examinations and consultations. This is with a view to raise awareness, provide correct information, and early detect transmitted diseases, including the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
Furthermore, the centers aim to provide health advices for safer behaviors.
Moreover, counseling clinics work to provide 4 health and medical services, which are awareness and education about diseases, early detection of HIV, giving health advice on safer behaviors to avoid infection and not transmitting the infection and referring infected people and patients to specialized treatment clinics.
It stressed that the consultations are highly confidential without booking an appointment and without disclosing the beneficiary’s personal data, through a specialized medical team trained to provide the necessary health and medical services to citizens.
The group indicated that the voluntary counseling and examination service comes within the framework of ensuring the health and safety of citizens. It enhances efforts to prevent sexually transmitted diseases. This is all within the framework of the group’s efforts to spread health awareness among members of society, enhance education about AIDS, and stress the importance of conducting periodic examinations to detect it.

The participation of the Saudi Health Minister, Fahd Al-Jalajel , in Budget Forum 2024 highlighted significant health sector accomplishments.
Key Achievements in 2023
In the forum’s second session, Al-Jalajel outlined the health sector’s 2023 achievements and 2024 goals. He highlighted that healthcare coverage in Saudi Arabia surpassed the 2023 target, reaching 94%.
Major contributions to this success came from the Jazan Specialty Hospital and Jeddah Maternity and Children’s Hospital.
These projects have cut patient transfers from the region by 66% since 2016.
Technological Advancements
Moreover, Al-Jalajel introduced the addition of proton therapy to the Kingdom’s health system, a pioneering move in the region. This advanced treatment uses precise radiation to target cancer cells while sparing adjacent organs.
This treatment makes it an optimal choice for pediatric cases and tumors in sensitive areas.
